The 2020 NHS Football Captains
NHS CAPTAIN: CHARLIE CAHALANE
POS: QB/WR/DB Charlie was once again elected Captain for the 2020 season. A repeat Captain from the 2019 campaign. Charlie had a season that was marked with injury and comeback, showing his toughness, leadership and competitive edge, he battled back and showed a willingness to play anywhere at anytime... including at WR with one hand recording a reception and an interception on defense while in a wrapped cast. Charlie is a rare 3- sport athlete and plays basketball and baseball. Elected Captain this season based on not only his play and leadership qualities but on the way he carries himself. A top performer in the classroom and HIGH level of character. Carries himself with pride, has respect for others, a true gentleman. Brother Jack (NHS 16’) was a former standout WR and stellar Safety for the Clippers. |
NHS CAPTAIN: TREVOR WARD
POS: WR / DB Trevor had a standout season for the Clippers in 2019 serving as a junior captain and was re-elected by an overwhelming number of his peers. He was named All League as both a skilled offensive player and as a defensive back, drawing the top receiver each week that the Clippers lined up. Re-elected Captain this season based on not only his play and leadership qualities but on the way he carries himself. A top performer in the classroom and HIGH level of character. Carries himself with pride, has respect for others, a true gentleman.Trevor is also a standout member of the track and field team and looks to be a major contributor this winter with NHS basketball as another standout 3 - sport athlete. |
NHS CAPTAIN: JASON TAMAYOSHI
POS: RB / DB Jason brought a high level of energy to the Clippers this past season. His work ethic and leadership in the weight room and on the field definitely does not go unnoticed by his coaches or peers. Jason was up and down with injury this past season but showed his leadership ability by sticking with the team each day and helping in every way possible. Jason, like our other Captains is a leader in the classroom and on the field. His older brother Ryan (NHS 17') served as Captain and played a major role as a defensive leader in the 2015 and 16' seasons. |
NHS CAPTAIN: JOHN DONOVAN
POS: OL/DL John had a stellar season in the 2019 campaign as one of the better two way lineman in the Cape Ann League. Recognized as the 2019 Palumbo-Price Winner (for best lineman at NHS), a rarity as a Junior. John showed his leadership with the line as a true 'student of the game' putting in time in the film room and working his technique on the field. John will join a tremendous group of leaders as a 2020 Captain and the only lineman of the group and look towards a productive off season and big 2020 campaign. John was also elected Captain for the 2020 lacrosse season as a Junior. |
